The Department of Mechanical Engineering has been in existence since the beginning of Government Polytechnic, Dharashiv in 1985 with intake of 60 and increased intake of 60 started from year 2009.
The Programme is approved by AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) and is affiliated to MSBTE (Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education).
The Department has highly qualified faculty and well-established Laboratories such as Machine shop & Workshop, Fluid Mechanics & Machinery Lab, Thermal Engineering Lab, Theory of Machine Lab, Measurement and Control Lab, Metrology & Quality Control Lab, Industrial Fluid Power Lab.
